
The Burlington Schools Foundation was founded in 1996 and has successfully
completed the following projects:
- 2009: Provided funding toward the J.J. Flynn Elementary musical theater production
- 2009: Provided funding toward the C.P. Smith Elementary musical theater production
- 2009: Funded BHS drama mentoring program
- 2009: Funded New North End Youth Center Middle School Summer Program for students of Hunt Middle School and Edmunds Middle School
- 2008: Created and funded a program that pays for the admission tickets of Burlington Middle School students attending the BHS fall musical
- 2008: Funded Very Merry Theater’s creation of a BHS drama mentoring program
- 2008: Funded a set of drums for Hunt Middle School for use in summer, after-school and in-school music programs
- 2008: Funded New North End Youth Center Middle School Summer Program for students of Hunt Middle School and Edmunds Middle School
- 2008: Created and funded the Generations Connect program to provide transportation for elders to attend the Burlington High School fall musical and spring one-act plays
- 2007: Funded transportation for elders to attend “Wonderful Town” at
Burlington High School
- 2007: Funded New North End Youth Center Middle School Summer Program for students of Hunt Middle School and Edmunds Middle School
- 2006: Funded transportation for elders to attend “Beauty & The Beast” at
Burlington High School
- 2005: Funded GISMT: Girls in Science, Math and Technology for Burlington
Middle Schools
- 2005: Funded the Hunt Middle School Literacy Project
- 2005: Funded transportation for elders to attend “Anything Goes” at
Burlington High School
- 2004: Funded transportation for elders to attend “Seussical” at
Burlington High School
- 2004: Funded the Hunt Middle School Summer Reading Program
- 2004: Funded the Mosaic Art Project for Burlington Schools
- 2003: Funded the Edmunds Middle School Edmunds Reading Project (ERP)
- 2003: Funded the Fletcher Free Library Women Authors Reading Project
- 2003: Funded the Edmunds Middle School Cafeteria Arts Project
- 2003: Funded Science Nights at Hunt Middle School and Edmunds Middle
School
- 2003: Funded Theatre Programs at Edmunds Middle School
- 2003: Funded the Scholarships Directory at Burlington High School
- 2003: Funded transportation for elders to attend “Guys and Dolls” at
Burlington High School
- 2001-Current: Annually coordinated and monitored the Bobby Miller
Scholarship Fund for Burlington High School Students and distribute
scholarships
- 2000-2001: Coordinated the collection of funds and distribution of
matching funds from The Freeman Foundation for the Burlington public
schools
- 2000-2001: Assisted organizations supporting Burlington students to
achieve non-profit status
- 2000: Adopted revised Mission Statement and Bylaws
- 1996-2004: Monitored Burlington Schools Foundation monies deposited with
the Chittenden Bank
- 1996-1998: Assisted the “Save the Babysitter” campaign to promote the
Norman Rockwell painting
- 1996: Reorganized to be separate and independent from the Burlington
public schools.
